Shah Rukh Khan, who bagged the Zee Cine Awards 2024 Best Actor trophy for Jawan and Pathaan, recalls he sat at home and started making ‘rotis and pizzas’ after his films stopped working.
If one thing that has kept everyone glued onto the recently concluded Zee Cine Awards 2024, it is Shah Rukh Khan. Be it his dapper look on the red carpet, his performance on stage or the actor taking home the Best Actor award for Jawan and Pathaan, SRK has trending on social media. Recently when a fan account of the superstar shared a series of video clips on X (formerly Twitter) from the awards held in Mumbai, SRK’s honest and emotional acceptance speech, floored the netizens. In the lastest video, posted on Tuesday, the 58-year-old was heard saying, “It has been some time since I won an award. Kuch aath-nau saal ho gaye (Eight-nine years have gone by since I won the best actor trophy). Love hi love mil raha the award nahin mil raha tha (I was receiving love but no awards). This is my first award after many years.”
The Dunki actor thanked his team for the success of his film, on-stage performance as well as the award he was honoured with on Sunday night. The superstar, who returned to the award ceremony after nine years, dedicated his Best Actor trophy to his children Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam, and wife Gauri Khan. A witty SRK then left the audience roaring with excitement, when he added the ‘baap’ dialogue in honour of his children. “Jab tak aapka baap zinda hai, entertainment zinda hai!” he quipped.
SRK thanked Jawan director Atlee, who also won the Best Director trophy for the blockbuster film. Another heartwarming video of Atlee touching the star’s feet, who gets hugged and kissed in return, was showered with love online.
At the 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, held last month, SRK, who won the Best Actor award for his film, Jawan, in his acceptance speech Jawan, revealed, “Shukriya sari jury member ka jinhone mujhko Best Actor ke layak samjha… aur bahut saal ho gaye mujhe best actor ka award nahin mila toh aisa lagne laga tha ki ab milega hi nahin. Mujhe bahut khushi hai. Mujhe awards bahut ache lagte hain, main thoda lalchi hoon (I thank the jury who considered me worthy of the Best Actor award. I haven’t been given the Best Actor Award in a long time. It seemed as if I would not win it again. So, I am extremely happy. I love receiving awards. I am a bit greedy).”
